HPT100/200 – Hydrocarbon Degradation

A concentrated, dry blend of stabilized bacterial spores and micronutrients formulated for use in the degradation of petroleum based hydrocarbons.

Hydrocarbons are some of the most difficult organic substance to break-down. Petroleum refinery wastewater generally contains petroleum hydrocarbons and non-petroleum organic wastes.  For this reason HPT contains a synergistic blend of petroleum degrading and organic waste degrading bacterial strains along with additional nutrients. These microbes will use the hydrocarbons as a food source, which is ultimately converted to water and carbon dioxide (CO2). The hydrocarbons are degraded as they are metabolised to provide the microbe with energy.

Each strain in HPT was selected to work under diverse environmental conditions and provides the most complete digestion of petroleum and petroleum degradation by-products.

HPT contains proven petroleum degrading strains.  As shown in the two graphs below, gas chromatograph analysis confirmed that these strains metabolize hydrocarbon products such as gasoline, oil, diesel, and BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl benzene, and Xylene).
